2008 American Graphic Design Awards Recipient

Alvalyn Lundgren has been selected as a winner in the 2008 American Graphic Design Awards, sponsored by GraphicDesignUSA, for her design of the 2007 New Journal of Student Research Abstracts which she developed for Los Angeles World Airports/Van Nuys Airport. The Journal is a joint outreach project of Van Nuys Airport and California State University, Northridge to engender interest in aviation and science careers among middle school and high school students. The American Graphic Design Awards recognizes excellence in graphic design in all media and is the broadest of design awards competitions in the United States. Out of over 10,000 entries only 15% was recognized with an award. Alvalyn's work will be featured along with the other winners in the GraphicDesignUSA Awards Annual which is published in December, and on its web site.
Alvalyn Launches Web Site for Stephen Xavier, America’s Top Coach®

As part of the branding program for America’s Top Coach®, Alvalyn has developed a web site featuring a prominent image of Stephen Xavier as a visual anchor in the upper left corner of each page. An elegant motion sequence on the home page repeats the color scheme. The site, aimed toward top-level business execs, is a departure from the usual executive coaching web fare in its quiet and simple presentation, its color scheme and its content. Personal Branding Course at UCLA Extension

An online course in Self-Branding: Positioning Yourself and Your Portfolio for designers and other creatives will begin during the last week of September at UCLA Extension. Taught by Alvalyn Lundgren, the course covers branding principles and definitions, reserach, strategy and creating touchpoints, all with a bent toward personal branding, promotion and marketing for creative professionals. Social networking and blogging are also discussed. Students will develop their own visual elements on which to build their brands.
Drinking Green

Alvalyn recently completed work on a motif for a recyclable, compostable to-go cup for Trade Supplies, Inc. in Vernon, CA. The series of cups, ranging in size from 4 - 20 ounces, will be printed with Alvalyn's custom "organic" design. Trade Supplies is a supplier to food service companies and restaurants.
JD Power and Associates

A series of interior signs for JD Power and Associates, Westlake Village, CA, will assist safely teams during disaster drills and evacuations. Alvalyn was recommended to the Operations Manager to create the signage, which will illustrate routes of travel for occupants on two floors.
GoBeDo Productions Web Site Launch

An up-market web site makeover for GoBeDo Productions, Inc. was launched today. With a redefined target audience, the event planning and management company selected Alvalyn Creative to develop the new site, with added pages content and features.
Alvalyn Designs for Create Magazine
January 2, 2008
Alvalyn designed a 4-page feature article for Create Magazine's January-February 2008 West Coast edition. Given the topic of the development of motion graphics, Alvalyn used motion sequences photographs by Edweard Muybridge as the basis for the article's background motifs. The January-February 2008 edition is available in on newsstands and online at Create Magazine.
Second Flight

Alvalyn recently completed work on her second publication design project for Van Nuys Airport, a division of Los Angeles World Airports. The publication, the New Journal of Student Research Abstracts 2007, is a compilation of hundreds of science project theses written by middle school, high school and university students from throughout southern California. The Journal, a joint project between Van Nuys Airport and California State University, Northridge, was instituted for the purpose of promoting careers in aviation and science.
